Hare Krishna
ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), also known as the Hare Krishna movement, is rooted in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition. It was founded in 1966 by H.D.G A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
To practice a life of purity, compassion, and selfless service, uniting people through Vedic wisdom and spiritual practices.
Our Purpose
Uplift consciousness through the Hare Krishna mantra. The Hare Krishna Maha Mantra is the most powerful means of God-realisation in this age of Kali.
Devotional movement in kirtan. Ecstatic kirtan and spiritual dance is offered daily by our trained brahmanically initiated priests and devotees.
Sharing sanctified vegetarian meals (prasadam) offered to Krishna. Free prasadam is distributed to all visitors daily at Hare Krishna Dham.
"To share the teachings of Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam worldwide and inspire a life of devotion to Lord Krishna."
"To practice a life of purity, compassion, and selfless service, uniting people through Vedic wisdom and spiritual practices."
Our Story
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded in 1966 in New York City by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada — a pure devotee who brought the ancient Vedic wisdom of Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam to the Western world.
ISKCON Chandigarh — Hare Krishna Dham — is a spiritual centre in the heart of Chandigarh, located at Sector 36B on Dakshin Marg. Six aratis (worship rituals) are offered daily by 24 brahmanically trained priests, along with six corresponding bhoga (food) offerings to the Lord.
The temple is home to the beautiful deities of Sri Sri Radha Madhav, and our broadcast features Lord Shiva Temple, Lord Krishna Temple, Lord Rama Temple, and Lord Vishnu Temple — all available for live darshan online.
