हरे कृष्ण हरे कृष्ण, कृष्ण कृष्ण हरे हरे । हरे राम हरे राम, राम राम हरे हरे ॥
Transliteration: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare / Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare
Meaning: O Lord Hari (Krishna), O Rama — O all-attractive, all-pleasing Lord — please engage me in Your loving devotional service. This maha-mantra purifies the mind, frees the soul from material bondage, and awakens pure love of God.
श्री-कृष्ण-चैतन्य प्रभु नित्यानन्द । श्री-अद्वैत गदाधर श्रीवासादि-गौर-भक्त-वृन्द ॥
Transliteration: Śrī-Kṛṣṇa-Caitanya Prabhu Nityānanda Śrī-Advaita Gadādhara Śrīvāsādi-Gaura-Bhakta-Vṛnda
Meaning: I offer my obeisances to Sri Krishna Chaitanya, Prabhu Nityananda, Sri Advaita, Gadadhara, Srivasa, and all the devotees of Lord Chaitanya. This mantra is chanted before the Maha Mantra to invoke the mercy of the five forms of the Lord.
ॐ अज्ञान-तिमिरान्धस्य ज्ञानाञ्जन-शलाकया । चक्षुर् उन्मीलितं येन तस्मै श्री-गुरवे नमः ॥
Transliteration: oṁ ajñāna-timirāndhasya jñānāñjana-śalākayā cakṣur unmīlitaṁ yena tasmai śrī-gurave namaḥ
Meaning: I was born in the darkest ignorance, and my spiritual master opened my eyes with the torch of knowledge. I offer my respectful obeisances unto him. This prayer is offered every morning to the guru parampara (disciplic succession).
गोविन्दम् आदि-पुरुषं तम् अहं भजामि ।
Transliteration: cintāmaṇi-prakara-sadmasu kalpa-vṛkṣa- lakṣāvṛteṣu surabhīr abhipālayantam lakṣmī-sahasra-śata-sambhrama-sevyamānaṁ govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi
Meaning: I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, the first progenitor, who is tending the cows, yielding all desire, in abodes built with spiritual gems and surrounded by millions of wish-fulfilling trees, always served with great reverence and affection by hundreds of thousands of Lakshmis. (Brahma Samhita 5.29)
नमस्ते नरसिंहाय प्रह्लादाह्लाद-दायिने । हिरण्यकशिपोर् वक्षः शिला-टङ्क-नखालये ॥
Transliteration: namas te narasiṁhāya prahladāhlāda-dāyine hiraṇyakaśipor vakṣaḥ śilā-ṭaṅka-nakhālaye
Meaning: I offer my obeisances to Lord Narasimha, who gives joy to Prahlada Maharaja and whose nails are like chisels on the stone-like chest of the demon Hiranyakashipu. Lord Narasimha is the protector of devotees and removes all fear.
नमामीश्वरं सच्चिदानन्द-रूपं लसत्-कुण्डलं गोकुले भ्राजमानम् । यशोदा-भियोलूखलाद् धावमानं परामृष्टम् अत्यन्ततो द्रुत्य गोप्या ॥
Transliteration: namāmīśvaraṁ sac-cid-ānanda-rūpaṁ lasat-kuṇḍalaṁ gokule bhrājamānam yaśodā-bhiyolūkhalād dhāvamānaṁ parāmṛṣṭam atyantato drutya gopyā
Meaning: I offer my obeisances to the Supreme Controller, whose form is eternal, full of knowledge and bliss. He has beautiful earrings and is glowing in Gokula. He is being chased by Mother Yashoda with great speed, having run away from the grinding mortar. This prayer is sung throughout the month of Kartika (Damodara month).
गोविन्द जय जय, गोपाल जय जय । राधा-रमण हरि, गोविन्द जय जय ॥
Transliteration: Govinda Jaya Jaya, Gopala Jaya Jaya / Rādha-Ramaṇa Hari, Govinda Jaya Jaya
Meaning: Victory to Govinda, the Lord of the cows! Victory to Gopala, the cowherd! Victory to Hari, the one who delights Radha! This joyful kirtan is sung at the conclusion of arati.
राधे राधे राधे, श्याम मिला दे । हे श्याम हे श्याम, राधे मिला दे ॥
Transliteration: Radhe Radhe Radhe, Shyam mila de / He Shyam He Shyam, Radhe mila de
Meaning: O Radha, O Radha — please unite me with Shyama (Krishna). O Shyama, O Shyama — please unite me with Radha. This devotional prayer expresses the yearning of the devotee to attain the divine love of Radha and Krishna.
